How It Works

The difference between input (shaft) and output (useful) power becomes heat in the hydraulic fluid. Without adequate cooling, this heat raises the oil temperature, which degrades viscosity and component life.

As a rule of thumb, hydraulic oil should be kept below ~65°C. If your estimate exceeds this, consider a larger tank or an oil cooler.
